The Siberian Husky dogs are very old breed of Siberia, these dogs had been used for several hundred years by native of Chukchi tribe, off eastern Siberian peninsula. These dogs were used to herd reindeer, drive cattle, guard of flock and pulling sledded carts over snowy mountains. The Siberian Husky dogs were employed in the form of small groups and were able to work in such severe weather conditions for prolonged durations. The dogs were suitably build for such jobs and were light in weight, not letting the dog to penetrate deep inside the snow, further effective grasp of the toes enabled them to pull the sleds powerfully. Their speed brings them in race competitions in Malamute, a region of Alaska. Fur traders of the area were interested in such competitions, and these were the people who brought the dog to Alaska from Siberia. The Siberian Husky participated in All-Alaskan Sweepstakes, competitions in which the dogs were to pull sleds for 408 miles during the year 1908. Thereafter, the dog achieved its fame and became popular breed for this event. The dog has been used by Admiral Byrd during a mission in Antarctic region during early1900s. Siberian Husky dogs also served the human by distributing much-needed medicines in Nome, an area of Alaska during an epidemic of diphtheria in the year of 1925. The breed had also served the Arctic Search and Rescue Unit of Army during World War II. This versatile and useful breed was recognized in 1930 by American Kennel Club. Their expressions are soft and gentle that human beings are automatically attracted towards them. They are extremely caring and well wisher of the peoples. They are kind not only to the human beings but to other animals including dogs. They feel happy while playing with their masters, you would get childish play even from an old Siberian Husky. They go along well with new dog owners and are said to be a wax personality, you can mould as you want it. The experienced owners of Siberian Husky rightly describe its temperament as it will only reflect back you, what you have shown to them. Keeping this fundamental truth in mind, you would feel a greater challenge in training, as you can make or mar the dog.

With the increase in demand and popularity, some irresponsible breeders have developed the exact replica of the dog, which is not off course the original Siberian Husky dog.
