Overview

Miniature pinscher is a small dog. It is fabulous family companion, extremely cheerful, happy natured and active. It is lighthearted, jokey and exploring natured dog with strong body and powers like a larger dog. Alike other terrier breeds, Miniature Pinscher are aggressive to other dogs and cats as well while stands aloof of strange human beings. The breed is alert and was anciently used to guard slammer in barnyard.

The Miniature pinscher is a blend of square like dimensioned, tough animal with average strength of muscles and bone structure. The distinguished feature of the bread is the posture of the dog, expressing poise inner state and self assurance in its gait. Horse like pace with long steps make it pride way of walk. Short and coarsely rough coat is much suited for its application. It enjoys some athlete properties in it. It is good runner, a chaser and quite a tricky.

Germany is declared origin of the Miniature Pinscher. The breed is descended from a couple or more breeds which include Dachshund, Greyhound and German Pinscher. The Miniature Pinscher is also related with another breed named ‘Doberman’, a medium large breed of dog of German origin with a glossy black and tan coat; used as a watchdog. The Miniature Pinscher was initially deployed as the watchdog not for intruder’s interdiction, but for holding the prisoners guarded in the open jails. The breed is also popular as “the King of the Toys". Family’s oriented friend, this breed is obedient, perfect guard and versatile attendant.

Temperament

The dog is daring and darling, very sweet and playful to family. The dog is aggressive and likely to be destructive to strangers and other dogs, they stand aside with full confidence in them, they usually do not need your dictation to react. They are tender to affectionate people, but rude to intruders. Their build is strong and tough; they may catch in superiority complex to other dogs. They are fearless to larger size of animals and can stand firm. Their destructive nature is to be dealt on very early bases during training.

The dog is genius to its own, it recreates with the play of children, it retaliates if teased. It is safe for your children to know your dog and do not try knocking the dog over in any way. On other side, the small sized dog itself is quite fragile, even though the build is strong. Pinscher dog is proud to think that it is the dog equally capable in relation to large terrier. It exercises the dominance over other pets of the house. Socialization and housetrain of this dog is extremely demanding and quite challenging. If you plan to keep other animals in home as pet, then introduce them with Pinscher in its early age, otherwise you do not need either Pinscher, or other pet. They could form a very alert and watchful watchdog, will bark on detection of any suspect in the surrounding.

Owner Should Know

  1. Miniature Pinscher is hard and tough small dog, it is active and need activities to fulfill its mental and physique requirement. A small yard is comfortable for them and small game to run behind and chase.
  2. Min Pin is sensitive to weather may caught cold, keep warm clothes for them in winter and ply them in warmer area. Make them exposed to sun to take heat.
  3. They are hunter of small pests, rats and other vermin, small object may cause harm to them and may cause choking of its breathing pipe, as it will consider those objects as the prey.
  4. They have a lot of energy. They're also very curious. You must supervise your Min Pin constantly, otherwise, keep them at leashed, bound to a limited area.
  5. They are quite dominating in nature and will try to take the authoritative control over your house if you give them some chance to do so.
  6. Socialize should commence in very early stage with introduction of other possible animals at home.
  7. Housetrain to make an effective companion and perfect watchdog, decide command for acknowledgement of barking.
  8. Always get healthy puppies, never buy a puppy from an irresponsible breeder, puppy mill, or pet store. Seek for a reputable breeder who tests her breeding dogs to make sure they are free of genetic diseases.
